Qatar new Carbon free mass transportation system based on e-buses

Last batch of e-buses has been received by Hamad Port released in a press news by Ministry of Transport(MoT). New e-buses will operated under Mowasalat Company(Karwa). The final number of e-buses included 130 which add to the total of 741 buses intended for the World Cup 2022 later this year. One of the largest e-buses operations in the all history of sports and public events underway for the FIFA World Cup.

The entire initiative is a step toward clean energy for mass transportation for the World Cup and beyond. By this move Qatar will be taking the leading place in integrating and operating electric bus system, energy clean mass transportation among the first countries in the world.

FIFA World Cup 2022 support Qatar dedication to implement a carbon-neutral, environmental-friendly World Cup. MoT Ministry of Transport also released and infographic on their socials about whole e-buses operations undergoing. The final 741 buses according to (MoT) will accomplish 25% of the electric bus fleet for the World Cup.

Further going eight bus stations are fully ready with charging devises by Karwa at Al-Sudan, Industrial Area, Al-Wakra, Lusail, Education City, Msheirib, West Bay Central Station, and Al-Gharafa. The four bus depots also include Al-Wakra, Lusail, Al-Rayyan, and New Industrial Area.
In total 2600 bus stops will be installed at the locations of several bus routes. The first phase of public transport plan will be achieved by October 2022.

One of the plans for the fleet also stated that the e-buses will be added to 44 metro link routs with 48 public transit routs starting from 2023 and beyond.

Under Mowasalat (Karwa) e-buses operate on several routs, where Route No.76 fully running on e-buses. Although alternative transport service for the two Golden and Red metro lines of the Doha Metro already operate on electric buses.
