Qatar Airways the only airline to launch new services in southern Africa

Qatar Airways, Airlink sign  agreement

Airlink and Qatar Airways  have signed a comprehensive codeshare agreement. This offers more choices to the travelers, better services and connectivity. Currently, there’s 45 destinations in 13 countries in southern Africa and the rest of the world.

Flights now simpler with single reservation

With the new agreement, travelers can simply purchase connecting flights on both airlines with a single reservation. They’ll be able to book attractive offers from southern Africa to various places like New York, Dallas, London, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Manila, Jakarta and Cebu. The ticketing, check-in, boarding and baggage-check experience, during the entire journey will also be seamless.

From  eight gateways in the region, Qatar Airways provides another connection to Airlinks extensive regional network. They’ve added eight new traveling destinations since the start of pandemic. Last year, they’ve started operating in Luanda, Harare and Lusaka. This month, they resumed operating in Windhoek (Namibia’s capital).

Agreement increases Qatar Airways footprint in southern Africa

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive HE Akbar al Baker said that, by expanding their network with Airlink, they’ve given more destination and flights choices to the travelers, and that they hope it’ll help recover traveling.
Travel plays an important role in southern African economies.
He also said that partnerships such as this one with Airlink will greatly enhance their offering to the customers, and also support travel and trade.

Chief Executive  Officer of Airlink  Rodger Foster said that this agreement is a public approval of Airlink’s relevance to providing air access to the entire region. Combined with Qatar Airways global reach, it creates unparalleled connectivity opportunities.
He added that Airlink, as southern Africa’s leading airline, provides comprehensive, safe, and reliable air transportation services. It also enables socio-economic development by connecting people with each other and makes trade within the region and beyond easier.
